But in both OS2WEB Browser and Mozilla 2.1a, using the same profile, I get some other web page, the default home page for those browsers. How do I fix this.You shouldn't worry about that as it only occurs once immediately after a new install.
I have a similar problem because I share my profile between my OS/2 and Win2000 on my laptop. This generally works OK, but, sometimes when
I install a new build on or the other (about three nightlies a week for OS/2, about once a week for Win2000), I see the same problem when
I swap between them. Generally it sorts itself out after a couple of openings on each OS.
Now in your case, OS/2 Web Browser is basically Mozilla 1.01. And you're also running Mozilla 1.2a. And, in my prefs.js are these lines:
user_pref("browser.startup.homepage_override", false);
user_pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone", "rv:1.2b");
I'm guessing, that when you swap between the two browsers, these lines
are checked, and because they don't match the current browser version,
the appropriate Mozilla home page is written. Then the above lines are updated with the version of the current browser.
Mike has said not to use the same profile with different versions of Mozilla as there is no guarantee they will be compatible.
