Hi, first off, that panacea.dat file can get bloated after a lot of use,
and old newsgroup names sometimes pop up in there. It may also be used
by NS6.1 for buddies or something....

Second, I just went through and deleted a lot of these files, one by
one, last night to fix a bug:

localstore.rdf > I beleive it contains non-pref, yet window memory type
info. It contains your window sizes, separator spacing, and theme
choice for starters.

there should also be an XUL.mfl file in your profile dir (win32 only?).
This is precompiled stuff that helps mozilla run faster, and it should
be regenerated with every new mozilla build you use, and then stay there
to increase speed. I found it is not being regenerated, though, and it
is causing bugs.
