I have long ago, used XPCOM wrappers for ODBC. You can look at xpserver.mozdev.org and the XPDBC project in it. The last time I checked in the source (which was sometime back..) the project compiled fine on VC6. Might help you get an idea about how to go about it. Do post ur findings on the list.
