Hi All,
We are working on a cross platform installation system for our products and I heard about XPInstall as used by Mozilla. I have taken a quick look at it, but it looks like it is heavily centric to Mozilla. Is that true? Can XPInstall be used as a general, cross platform installation system for non-Mozilla based applications?
Thanks!
XPInstall consists of a couple different parts; one is the install wizard. Although the install wizard for the Mozilla builds just does Mozilla, you can modify it to handle any program by modifying the included config.ini.
