well depends. and that's what roland tr-707 open hihat is for. most of
the house stuff i keep hearing tend to try to sound like there was live
drummer, so, it's quite bright sound. if you take some french filter
grooves (that are quite boring) the typical open hihat is filtered down.
check out the grooves by todd terry around 92-94 and find out the
ultimate open hihat. (and that's eq'ed down!)  :)
