Hi all,

Actually having a job this year means I don't have time to work on LAME much
anymore, and I'm glad that Mark has taken up the challenge. He's done some
really good work with the buggy ISO model and psychoacoustics.
LAME wasn't just my work however. I will try to put together a comprehensive
list of people who have helped over the *years*.

Mirror some of the files if you have the space on your web page...

LAME 2.1 was about 5 times faster than the ISO, but with the extra calculations
needed for ms_stereo etc, the speedup may be reduced. YMMV

The graphical frame analyzer is great! Allows a visual, quantifiable way of
comparing encoded files - even if you don't have golden ears (which I don't)

PS i think a priority for lame will be to test it on many platforms and maybe
try for a nobrainer install routine so even non-unix-weenies can try it.
