Hi all,
you can tell i've got an assignment due tomorrow, as I just spent
this evening looking at speeding up mpeg1-layerII.
You actually get quite good quality out of mp2, and it runs at
about twice the speed of mp3 encoding. If/when I finish my assignment, I
will probably post the little speedups i've done for the mp2 part of the
iso code.
BTW - those papers that Mark Taylor pointer out are pretty good reading.
