Hi all,
I've had a busy Christmas and haven't even looked at any mp3 code in
yonks. What I'd like to do before I start work(!) in a couple of weeks in
regards to LAME code

        - merge the LayerII stuff back in? Not really sure on this point.
        - clean up any front end stuff that stands out.
        - remove that awful 32khz hack i put in :)
        - incorporate reading from stdin
        - better wav header parsing? (not really keen to do this. I don't
encode anything else but 44khz stereo 16bit wavs)

Since I'm not going to have any time to work on it after I start work, I'm also
thinking of making it a proper source distribution (not a patch archive) and
modifying the makefile so that it can be easily be built on most unix
platforms. I'm pretty sure it builds well on anything right now, but I'd like
to have good compiler options to get good code on the different platforms.

Any suggestions are welcome. Speedup patches are also welcome :)
later
mike
