With lame 3.12pre5 I just encoded the song
Main Theme by Pink Floyd - Musik from the Film More
The default settings produce heavy distortions and forcing to M/S stereo makes
it even more worse. One has to force to Stereo to prevent the distortions.
A heavy left right shifting in the stereo and a strict stereo separation
(Drums on left channel, Bass on the right channel) is characteristic for this
song.
Anybody else had same problems on other songs?
Robert Hegemann
PS, on the same song lame stops with an error using highest VBR settings:
robert@bob:~ > lame -v -V 0 Main_Theme.wav Main_Theme.mp3
LAME version 3.12 (beta 5) (www.sulaco.org/mp3)
Found WAV header: 44.1kHz stereo
Encoding Main_Theme.wav to Main_Theme.-v-V0.mp3
