[MP3 ENCODER] "clicking" at start of file

While there may well be a problem with how LAME handles .wav files, there
are also issues with starting sound playback under linux (at least on my
soundcard). Whenever an application opens the audio device and starts
playback, I get a nasty "click" -- regardless of what the sound file is
