The -s commandline switch doesn't seme to work anymore:

/usr/ports/audio/lame/work/lame3.29> ./lame -b 24 -s 16 -r -x - -

LAME version 3.29 (www.sulaco.org/mp3)
GPSYCHO: GPL psycho-acoustic model version 0.73.
* rate = 44100
* -s = 16000
Assuming raw pcm input file
BitrateIndex: 24 (layer 3/1) not legal for input file sampling rate.
* Valid rates are: 32 40 48 56 64 80 96 112 128 160 192 224 256 320
* rate = 44100
USAGE   :  ./lame [options] <infile> <outfile>

I added the '*' lines for debugging. It processes the '-s' option
just fine, but some function later on seems to override it. Input file
processing has become convoluted enough that I can't seem to figure out
where.
