I am using beta release 3.57 and I did listen and look through my .wav file (no pop).. But the interesting thing is that when I woke up this morning and played the .mp3 there was no pop (high strangeness).. On another note I have almost completed an ActiveX control that uses Lame..There arent that many features yet, but where would I put this code at? Currently all you have to do is drop the lame distribution into the directory of the project and rename the dir to 'lame'...I plan on adding all the settings lame supports to the control probably today. -David Swigger -----Original Message----- From: Mathew Hendry [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, January 07, 2000 7:57 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [MP3 ENCODER] --Strange pop at beginning of song > From: Doug Wood [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > Another problem I have noticed in the CD ripping process is > that the time > values in the directory of the CD are often not accurate. This is usually down to problems with the CD-ROM drive, which will usually return data from a position on the CD slightly offset from the requested position. Most CD rippers have an option to compensate for this, but EAC (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de) is the only one I know of that offers a reasonably easy way to calculate it - based on a database of particular pressings of fairly common CDs. If you have a CD recorder, it is possible to compensate for the offsets in the reader and writer, and therefore quite possible to produce exact duplicates of audio CDs. Plextor drives seem to be preferred for good quality ripping/copying. -- Mat. -- MP3 ENCODER mailing list ( http://geek.rcc.se/mp3encoder/ ) -- MP3 ENCODER mailing list ( http://geek.rcc.se/mp3encoder/ )
