I took a carefull look, and lame --decode first parses the Xing header, and then sends the data to mpglib to be decoded even if it is a Xing header. I just fixed this, and checked it into CVS. btw, I found out you can get (source code only) daily snapshots from the lame CVS repository at this address: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cvstarballs/lame-cvsroot.tar.gz It's a 1mb download because it also includes all the web pages.
