Yes it is a tar archive but I don't think the CR/LF stuff is broken. btw I
am using Winzip 7, thats almost the latest version.

I think so, too. This command "co Makefile,v Makefile" seems to convert the
filenames from "xyz,V" to "xyz". But the command "co" isn't recognized on my
machine. If that's right, what is the name of the package this executable
can be found in?
