No, it's a pretty cheap Hoontech digital-out card, one of the few S/PDIF
cards where drivers exist for Linux. The significantly more expensive
cards that support multiple sample rates don't have recording ability
under Linux, so currently they're not worth their money for me.

Yes, but 50% is *not* acceptable :), and AFAIK the format is not open.
