This is supposed to generate the signals which have been cut off during MP3 Encoding. Like, CD Audio contains frequencies up to 22.5 kHz, but 128 kBit/s MP3s usually have a cut off at 16 kHz. According to them, when their technology will "re-generate" the missing frequencies, MP3 will sounds as good as the original CD!
Well, the truth is - dogs are the lucky ones who will be able to appreciate it really. Most adults cannot hear past 16 kHz and the sense of audibility at these high frequencies is also very low. Most importantly, the main drawback of MP3 encoding isn't just losing higher frequencies: it is the artifacts, pre-echo problems etc. And their technology doesn't seem to have to do anything with them...
So, I finally conclude this "Superior Drive" technology as a "Hogwash".
And by the way, if you want more "fidelity" from your MP3s, get DFX Plugin for WinAmp. There are freeware DSP plugins doing similar jobs, too.
