[To readers of both Lame and BladeEnc lists: I have checked the
mailing list archives and found nothing appropriate on this topic. I
thought this would be of general interest to all. Apologies if I was
wrong about this.]
Greetings,
I'm a registered user of DAC (Digital Audio Copy) for Win32, which
supports both the BladeEnc and Lame DLL plug-ins. I would like to
make use of these, but as far as I know, these are only available in
source form.
Is it possible to build working plug-ins for WinDAC using the latest
Cygwin and the Cygwin port of gcc-2.95.2?
Alternatively, what about gcc with MinGW? (I *have* seen references to
this in the Lame list.)
If so, could someone provide me with details? I have used Cygwin
often to build UNIX applications for NT (XEmacs, for example), but I
have never used them to build a DLL. (Actually, I've never built a
DLL, full stop.) Moreover, I don't know if there would be
name-mangling or other issues if Cygwin or MinGW DLLs are used with a
"native" Windows application like WinDAC.
Thanks very much for your help!
Kind regards,
David
