I guess my fear would be that unless you keep the originals, you can
never go back. If down the road you get a better audio setup, you
might wish you have that fidelity back.

The small player are convenient, but you might find yourself listening
to it more than you think. I know I certainly am hooked. :)

No question, the portable CD players aren't very durable. That's why I
keep my setup in a bag. Even though its a cheap $12 Case-Logic model,
its padded enough that I'm sure everything would survive a 6 foot drop
onto pavement.

Unfortunately that setup is available only from the HeadRoom site. I
took a chance and bought it sight unseen, but those headphones were
raved about from a number of iPod users. My friend tried my pair on
his PDA without the amplifier and was thoroughly impressed. They don't
need a lot of power but I think the amp improves the sound.
