Hi Chris On most computers, that's 999 of 1000 lame 3.93.1 is OK to use. The one on a thousand has some thing to do with the CPU and not the encoder itself. For the thousand program you can download an alternative build that mostly helps. Download from http://www.RosoftEngineering.com/cg/lameenc.dll or http://www.RosoftEngineering.com/cg/alt-lameenc.dll. The last one is the alternative build not as fast as the general download. When you refer to Rosoft do you referr to Rosoft Audio Tools? If that's the case. I can't say much about EAC except that Rosoft CD Extractor also makes Exact Audio Copy. It works pretty much the same way as EAC. I have made test with Rosoft CD Extractor and ripped the same track several times and gotten exactly the same file every time. So no matter how many times EAC reads a section on my CD-ROM it reads the same data. For information of how Rosoft CD Extractor works see http://www.RosoftEngineering.com/cdextractor/help/Index.htm. This is the same help file that comes with the program. If you download and install Rosoft Audio Tools you also get Rosoft Audio Recorder, Rosoft Lame Encoder and Rosoft Media Player. The only program that is limited of the free versions is Rosoft Audio Recorder. THis program is limited to 30 uses.
But I can't tell weather to use EAC or Rooft Audio Tools. EAC also seams likea deacant CD Ripper program.
