Thanks very much for the translation. Interesting discussion. By FBSD you mean Free BSD? So do I get the thread of the argument correct, you are advocating the use of Free BSD because the license used there is the BSD license where there is no conflict, just a single very permissive license?
It's interesting to note that David Harvey, whose code we use in MPIR has decided to use the BSD license on much of his code. This in fact makes it possible to incorporate into MPIR and GMP. I can certainly see the benefit of that. The main reason I haven't also switched to the BSD license personally is that it doesn't, as far as I can tell, protect my code from being modified by a company and sold back to me. However I did waver for quite some time when the license disputes broke out and almost went down the BSD route. Of course we couldn't change the license of MPIR to BSD even if we wanted to. It is based on the GMP code base and hence must remain LGPL. What does Free BSD do for a multiprecision integer library? Is there a BSD licensed equivalent?
