It appears something has been going wrong with google's spam filter. I've changed the Group Settings to "Unmoderated, new members messages are moderated". This gives us a chance to ban members who are posting stuff which is not relevant to the group such as the adult oriented material which has been seen the last few days.
Note that this "moderation" will only be used to remove spam. It may mean a small delay before new member's messages are posted, however the list has numerous managers and there is almost always someone available to review the messages. I hope this arrangement will be acceptable. If there are reports of google having rectified the problem we will again revert to completely unmoderated, as we vastly prefer this.
