I thought I was , but I'm not , whoops , I'm using cc and icc , gcc has been broken on is64 for a few months , when I say gcc I mean whatever version is/was invoked when typing gcc . as gcc-4.5 is recent I guess gcc-4.4 was also broken cc invokes gcc-4.1.2 which passes , and icc invokes version 11.0
