Hi all,

I have received permission to begin advertising the following position for
paid work on MPIR.

Please feel free to circulate it to anyone you think may be interested.

Bignum/assembly language position - TU Kaiserslautern

As part of the European union Horizon H2020 project "OpenDreamKit"
we are looking for a full time developer to work with Dr. William Hart on
the MPIR (Multiple Precision Rationals and Integers) project
(http://mpir.org/).

The position would begin March 2016 in Kaiserslautern, Germay and is
funded for one year.

The successful applicant should have at least an undergraduate degree in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent
and have either a background in assembly language/low level
programming, thread level parallelisation or Bignum arithmetic.

For more information on the OpenDreamKit project, please visit
http://opendreamkit.org/

The specific deliverables for the project include:

* Maintaining support for modern Intel/AMD CPUs in MPIR including AVX
support
* Writing an assembly superoptimiser for x86_64 processors
* Assisting with MPIR build system maintenance
* Helping to parallelise the FFT for bignum arithmetic in MPIR

It could be an advantage to a candidate to have additional interests
that align with the broader OpenDreamKit goals or the research goals of
the computer algebra group in Kaiserslautern.

Enquiries can be made by email to goodwillhart <at> googlemail.com.
