I did get a couple of error messages that I think are a separate issue. I'll 
post those in a separate topic.

FYI. I did make a GNU makefile to target both MingW and MSVC some years ago.
It works for MSVC v1900 (i.e. VS2015) with some small tweaks. It's is here:

I made that since the the official build-procedure didn't work for me.
