In response to my questions about the graffiti removal process I received
this from the city:

"We have crews out to paint over graffiti on public property as second
priority after removing graffiti from the cases already reported. So, if
there is time left over, they will remove other graffiti from public
property only."

Seems to me that removing graffiti on public property shouldn't be a second
priority. Cleaning up one's own house should be a first priority. Why wait
for someone else to report it?

Tonight my daughter and I did another Graffiti Patrol. We talked about what
graffiti was, why we shouldn't do it, what to look for, and how to report
it. She spotted nearly every tag - and she is 4 years old. This time we
went about five blocks East and West of where we live and about three blocks
North. What we found was a concentration of graffiti around Folwell Middle
School and at the corner of 38th and 23rd. And a few more around 26th Ave S
between 38th and 39th. Many of the tags were ones I did not report
initially, but in the vicinity of tags I reported just to see if they would
get removed - and they didn't. And there were many new tags within just a
few days of my last report or removal. Makes me wonder if there is a plan to
watch tagger "hot spots."

So here's this weeks list which has already been forward to the Minneapolis
Graffiti Reporting Web site. And to those of you requesting that my family
tour your neighborhood, let me know your address and we'll see what we can
do, but no promises. ;-)
