In response to David Brauer's comments about the Central Library, I would like to take this opportunity to invite him and all others who are interested, to come and tour the Central Library. The Central Library is not only the busiest library in the city providing basic direct library services to downtown residents and workers, it is also the hub of the entire Minneapolis Public Library system. It supports the community libraries with in-depth collection resources and reference expertise which is not possible physically or economically to have at all other locations. A survey of community libraries users conducted last year showed that over half of community library users also use the Central Library. It is centrally located to provide easy access to all parts of the city. If you are interested in a behind the scenes tour, that includes the stacks which house 85% of the collection, the acquisitions, processing, cataloging, and preservation units, please contact Susan Tertell, Acting Chief of the Central library. Her number is 630-6203. =========================================== Jan Feye-Stukas, Associate Director Minneapolis Public Library PH: 612-630-6208 300 Nicollet Mall FAX: 612-630-6210 Minneapolis, MN 55401 EMAIL: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
