I support the referendum as well, but I have some concerns about the campaign
for it. For instance, I see that the campaign is giving away leaf bags.
Wasn't it just a couple years ago that a candidate for state legislature got
into big trouble for giving voters something as valuable as a leaf bag?
Fair campaign practices should be followed by all.

Also, I don't like being innundated with the "Yes for Kids" message without
any discussion of the issues involved. For those who may not know, this
referendum is about _renewing_ a tax levy for reduced class sizes in
Minneapolis. That is, as I understand it, if we vote yes we continue to
pay the extra taxes we're currently paying, and if we vote no our taxes
will go down and the Minneapolis schools will have to make do with fewer
teachers. (It took me a while to find that much out.)

I also find it disturbing how much money is being spent on what is
essentially an easy win with Minneapolis voters. Where's it coming from?
