In the last several months I have received a number of complaints from
my Minneapolis constituents about the phone companies that do business
in Minneapolis. I have heard a lot of complaints about the level of
service from Quest. Do any of you have any experiences that you would
like to relate to me, off the list, regarding long waits, strange
billings, unkept promises, service offices only open during the day when
people are at work, or anything that you would like to have the
Legislature examine? There are several complaints about DSL service.
I have also heard of a practice in which people find large penalties
when they switch long distance carriers. This problem is not
particularly related to Quest, but to all the long distance carriers.
There are a number of other things I cannot at the moment recall, but it
is beginning to become a pattern that concerns me.
I guess I would like to see how widespread the dissatisfaction is before
I get geared up to take any action. You can reply to me off the list so
as not to interupt the flow of Minneapolis Issues discussion.
