David is correct; it will be a very challenging experience operating out of the Federal Courts Building for what is scheduled to be 7 months - if all goes well. I don't know what is worse, going through security at ground level to enter the building, or the 15 floor elevator ride to the temporary city council chambers. During this time, council members will move up a floor at city hall to temporary offices while HVAC updates and asbestos abatement take place on the third floor. Also, as part of last Thursday's budget adoption, the council chambers will FINALLY be updated and restored. On the bright side for the cable observers of council meetings, the wait will be worth it because city hall council chambers will finally have an upgraded audio system. I often attend city council meetings in our suburban communities and admire their new technology which includes better sound systems, wall monitors, and equipment to aid people making presentations to the council. fyi - standing committee meetings of the council will still be held at city hall in room 132.
