Just 10% difference for may in the last election. Interesting.

I would like to see the Green Party run a mayoral candidate, and get enuf
votes (5%, 10%) to motivate the DFL into a rapid push for IRV (Instant
Runoff Voting) where the second choice votes of Greens would go (mostly)
for the DFL.

The only way the DFL will push for IRV, long wanted by the Green Party, is
if it is the only way for them not to lose election after election. The
Green Party will do all it can to give the DFL motive, and all it can to
help them implement it.

Elections are not just about "the best individual" for the job. Candidates
come in the context of organizations and principles, of checks and
balances, of majorities to organize the legislature, etc. Elections are
also about the best organizations, best parties, best principles.
