It's interesting to know that of all the citizens and businesses being asked
to pay to have public garbage cans maintained, the companies that make
enormous profits pay very little, if any. MTC and the company that collects
advertising revenue from the shelters and benches aren't being charged for
the litter their companies generate. The mayor and our city council have
allowed these companies to write contracts which excuse them from being
billed. Even though garbage is strewn about by their customers, members in
the immediate community are being made to pay the tab. Just one more
pathetic example of the anti-citizen leadership by our cities' so called
leaders.
