Thank you Rosalind for reminding me about the demonstration. I live 1
block from the hotel on Nicollet where the barricades where set up. I had
to pass by there a lot during that time. When I asked individual police
officers questions regarding the demonstration, they initially ignored me,
then when I repeated the question, they gave me a curt, often one word
answer. When I repeated the question again, they appeared to me to get
agitated. My questions had to do with noise, street closings, and other
disruptions. Was this their "game face", "war face", official policy, or
just plain in-group/out-group rudeness? As a citizen and a neighborhood
resident I had a right to know these things. The cops were reluctant to
give any information. I either had to look for a cop that was in command
or do as some suggested--call headquarters. Forget about that noise!!
