I mean no offense, but I know that you are mistaken about ISAG and the
civilian review board. I called them myself (I wasn't actually at ISAG,
but I called go get information for a friend who was currently in jail
awaiting arraignment after ISAG). In meetings of defendants between ISAG
and the Public Safety and Regulatory Services Committee public forum on
police brutality, there was an organized effort to get everyone who had
been shot or pepper-sprayed or held in jail too long without being
formally charged or whatever to call the civilian review board. Many
people did. They and I were told that unless we knew the badge number of
the officer, there was nothing they could do. When people said that
the officers weren't displaying their badge numbers, the civilian review
board simply reiterated that this meant there was nothing they could
do. This fact was brought up multiple times at the public forum on police
brutality.
The civilian review board did nothing for the ISAG protesters, advised
highway 55 protesters to drop their complaints, and as far as I can tell,
has done nothing to help the families of the mentally ill people who have
been shot to death.
In fact, I believe that there have been some protests actually held
against the civilian review board because it has been simply rubber
stamping the police actions.
I know that when I called, they weren't helpful, and I have yet to
talk to a person who has had a different experience with them.

> The civilian review board received no information or complaints about this.
