One final note on campaign finance reform:

I just returned from my fundraiser. The first issue I talked about was
campaign finance reform. I told people that anyone giving to my campaign
should be prepared to have their name released. Three people came up
afterward to say they had reservations about that, so I told them to keep
their check. I also called one person this afternoon who had said she was
going to give me under the limit so the Mayor didn't know she was supporting
me...I told her she should not give.

So my stance cost my campaign about $400 that I know of so far.

The good news is I raised $5,000 tonight and have a slew of new committments
for additional fundraisers....some from people who like the stand.

This illustrated to me that we can clean up this system if we have guts.

Now how about it Sharon and Lisa? Isn't it time you opened up your books?
Shouldn't people know who is giving money? Let's all do this together and
show people that Minneapolis can be a leader in clean campaigns.
