Jordan.S.Kushner in backgrounding Progressive Minnesota's endorsements had
the following note regarding Ann Berget's candidacy in the 10th ward:
<<There were questions about whether Berget has taken strong progressive
stands on the school board.>>
I am not a supporter of Berget's candidacy, but I'm not sure I understand the
criticism.
No one on the school board has been pro-voucher, pro-privatization, for
defining a thimble's worth of ketchup as a meal.
Does Progressive Minnesota have a plank or other clear statement as to what
constitutes "progressive" behavior on a school board? For instance, is
support for community schools progressive? Support for policies developed by
the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers?
Thanks.
