I don't know who the last Minneapolitan elected Governor was, but I do know
that "Levander, spelled backward, is Red Navel". That catchy little bit of
campaign trivia was going around when I moved to Minneapolis in 1965. A few
years later Al Hofstede, campaigning door-to-door for mayor, caught me
putting the finishing touches on a harpsichord I was building, came in and
played a chorus of "Happy Times Are Here Again." It would have done Harry
Truman proud.
