The debate over candidate screenings and how they are handled has been fascinating. A major goal of Minneapolis-issues is to get more information in the hands of citizens. Now we're going to try to combine the two. Most endorsing groups ask candidates to fill out a written questionnaire in advance of the screening. Since some groups, such as Progressive Minnesota, have not established policies on whether to release that information publicly. So we are asking all candidates to do so, voluntarily. TO ALL CAMPAIGNS: please send your questionnaires to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (You may also send them to the list, but I'm not sure if our new length limit - which the list server only fitfully enforces - will chop them.) In a few days, I'll be writing an "Election Toolkit" web page that will include information such as screening questionnaires. Hopefully, the page will grow into a site and become a "deep" resource for citizens and journalists.
