Sorry - last housekeeping post today. In previous posts, I've asked everyone to send messages to the list in the Plain Text format. I want to reiterate that again. Why Plain Text? It cuts down on junk characters and viruses, which can live in more complicated message languages such as HTML (the computer language that makes web pages and email fonts look pretty). For the time being, our list server is set up to block any post not in Plain Text. My hope is that everyone will reconfigure their email programs to send Minneapolis-issues messages in the Plain Text format. For the past several days, I've been manually approving posts the list server has stopped, but that's getting to be a drag. So you may find improperly formatted posts bouncing back to you. If nothing else, there will be a delay getting your post to the list because I'll have to be around to send it through. You can avoid all this by figuring out how to use Plain Text. I know rummaging around email programs isn't easy for some of you, so if you get a message bounced (and please, wait until that happens!), feel free to email me and I'll see if I can help you figure out how to do it. If you use Outlook or Outlook Express, you can set up a Contact (or address) for Minneapolis Issues. Just call it "Mpls Issues" and set the address as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Go through the options (which may be under other Contact-option tabs) until you see something like "send message in plain text only." I know this is a drag for some of you, and we're still working on a long-term solution. But for now, give this a shot.
