Speaking of neighborhood newspapers, I got this in the mail from the Minnesota Newspaper Foundation and decided to pass it along for anyone who might be interested: COMMUNITY JOURNALISM WORKSHOP Saturday, March 10, 2001 9:30 a.m. - to 12:00 noon University of Minnesota's Journalism Conference Center, Murphy Hall The purpose of the workshop, presented by freelancer Dwight Hobbes and assistant journalism professor Karen Boros, is to help those interested in writing for a newspaper, or for those interested in gaining more knowledge in the field of journalism. Learn how to produce a great story while using and improving upon your own writing skills. Agenda topics include the role of community newspapers, writing for newspapers, practicing lead writing, and organizing stories. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!
