Luther Krueger asks if Timothy McVeigh would've been caught absent a traffic
stop.
There is still something called "probable cause", if memory serves...or did
the Supreme Court eliminate that while I wasn't looking?

I certainly don't want law enforcement to stop enforcing the law... but
there seems to be a heap of evidence that some officers, I hope just a few,
are pulling over based on "Driving while black (or brown, or ....). In
order for the people whom they serve to have confidence in the police, the
force needs to be perceived as acting in an evenhanded manner.

Mr. Krueger's experiences working with SAFE bring a valuable perspective to
this discussion -- I know that can only guess at the pressures an officer
works under -- but let's not let those factors excuse illegal conduct.
