Seems to me that rent controls would only hurt the city/metro housing
situation-- why would a builder/developer build new housing in a
rent-controlled environment? And why would landlords invest to maintain
properties, when they can't recover their investment via rents? Now if the
government is going to build all the new housing, that's another matter--
but what do you tell the taxpayers footing the bill?
