Again, an automatic response.  What makes New York and San Francisco
different that Minneapolis.  Lots and lots of things.  The tax-structures
are different.  The demograhics are different.  The city bureauracracies
are different.  The construction industry is different.  The market for
rental housing is different.

I don't think that rent control is a good idea for Minneapolis.  Nor do I
think it has worked in New York (except during WW II).

If I were making a movie about the rental housing situation in
Minneapolis, I'd call Central Casting.  Hey Central Casting, I need
someone who can play a good landlord.  Someone who can say:  "Rent
control? What a disaster! Let me give you 3 words: NYC.

Craig.  What is it that think about rent control?  Why do you think it
would not be good in Mpls?  What do you know about rent control in NYC and
SF?
