Can somebody fill me in on the Channel 5 report about drugs in Phillips
since I do not own a television and miss these exciting news facts - The
one's I miss when I'm not watching them go down on my corner at 26th and
Cedar. Anyway, where were these filmed - anybody know the streets they
showed or the general area??? Info would be helpful.

Just for an interesting sideline, the past cuouple of weeks I haven't been
driving much and have been carpooling and because of the ice in back have
been going out to the busstop on Cedar where rides pick me up. The story:
I have even been starred at by "dirty old men" in their usually 4 x 4's
certainly acting like they are looking for some action and would offer me a
ride - it is truly disgusting - imagine even a little old lady like me.
Some men?
Kathy Thurber did a good job on this issue especially on Lake Street but it
is so rampant, just like the drugs, it just moves from corner to corner as
you try to clean it up.

I have yet to figure out if CODEFOR works. I know many of my Indian
friends hate it - they say on Franklin Ave. getting stopped for jaywalking
and crossing on redlights can still get you in trouble most days of the week.

The best way to probably fight all this is put front porches everywhere and
get people to sit on them and watch the streets like our Grandma's or
Auntie's used to do.
