FYI, there was a piece on the Jim Leher Newshour (Channel 2) either Monday or Tuesday night where Chief Olson was part of a panel talking about the issue of racial profiling. Apparently, he is viewed as some sort of national authority! His role in the discussion was to talk about what it's like on the ground, the practicalities for police, etc. He talked a very good game. >From what I've read in the Strib and the discussion on this list, he must be a perfect example of what, in my high school years, we called "all show and no go". Different context, but you get the drift. BTW, Sheldon, where do get your background knowledge of the history of Mpls. Streets? Fascinating!
