Actually I'm pretty sure that the Mayor now lives in the 12th Ward, although
it is true that she used to live in the 8th Ward and represented it when she
was a Council Member.

However, the biggest point is the lack of attendance at this and all the
other Ward Conventions. Between 100 and 200 people are deciding who our
next Council Members will be!! I have been happy with some of the winners,
disappointed by others. However, it seems foolish in a City dominated by
the DFL that we allow such a small number of people deciding who will
represent us in the next 4 years.

For that reason, even though I am a DFL delegate, I will not hold my vote
against any candidate who decides not to abide by the endorsement. In fact
I will favor those candidates who won't abide by the endorsement because
that will ensure that we have a full and open debate among candidates
between now and November. I will also support any efforts, such as D.
Brauer's, that could potentially open up the endorsement process.

Dean E. Carlson
10th Ward Delegate
East Harriet
