I was informed that David Shove has just been banned from this list.
This is an outrage! Some of his messages may be a bit hostile toward
the DFL, but there is no justification for cutting him out of the
discussion. This forum should not be labelling itself as open or
accepting awards for promoting free speech if it excludes people for
merely voicing opinions in a way that the list manager deems to be
impolite.
It is also disturbing that a longtime participant can be cut out without
the other list members knowing about it. Who's next? What kind of
group will ultimately deemed "acceptable"? i think it is time to start
considering setting up a list that is truly open.
