At the direction of the Legislature, the Council issued Revenue Bonds for the
Metrodome. If instructed by the legislature the Council will issue bonds for a
stadium within the limitations provided by IRS regulations and other applicable laws.
The Council has no plans to issue bonds, because the legislature has not directed us
to do so.
I'd be interested to read the article, could you tell me where you saw that reference?
Thanks

This weekend, an article about ways to finance a proposed stadium included
a statement that the Met council plans to sell $40 million of revenue
bonds (if I remember correctly) to help build a stadium.

Can anyone cite the statutory authority for them to help finance a stadium
for private groups?
