The Strib is basically a one way forum (yes folks can write back in letters
to the editor, but there are numerous filters there).  When the mayor and
other candidates post here, they get the immediate feedback.....  An
immediate focus group of politial junkies--folks who are likely to talk to
their friends and influence more votes than their own.  

I hope we do have an online forum for Mayoral Candidates here on the issues
list.  I wonder if there would be any interest in a mixture of synchronous
(chat) and asynchronous (email) online forum.  I think it IS alot of work.
I would be interested in helping to organize such a forum.  I like the St
Paul model--stretching things out over a longer period of time.
