We need volunteers!

Help plant trees in the Midtown Greenway
for an Arbor Day event.

Saturday, April 28, 2001
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Midtown Greenway is a linear park more than five miles long, including a
barrier-free bicycle path and a separate walking path. It extends across
Minneapolis along the 29th Street Railroad Corridor one block north of Lake
Street, from the Chain of Lakes to the Mississippi River.

Volunteer tree planters are invited to come to one of five designated
planting areas to get started at 9:00 a.m. They are where the 29th Street
Greenway Corridor intersects from West to East:
                                *  Kenilworth Trail
                                *  Humboldt Avenue
                                *  Fremont Avenue
                                *  Blaisdell Avenue
                                *  Fourth Avenue

Please join us in celebrating this wonderful new linear park by helping at
this first tree planting event. Rain or shine, holes will be dug, the trees
will be delivered, and we need your help to plant them as a long-term memory
of this exciting day. Supervisors from Tree Trust will be there to provide
help. Free lunch will be provided, if you have a shovel bring it or just
show up!

Please contact Jeff Fitzmorris at Tree Trust, 952-920-9326 or Tim Springer
at the Midtown Greenway Coalition, 612-278-7171 for more information and to
volunteer.
