FYI....
Tonight, the Central Neighborhood Business Development Committee held its
monthly meeting and the main issue on the agenda was whether or not to
support a zoning change that would allow a motel (Americinn) along with
retail on the 2nd Ave./Lake St. site.
A large number of neighborhood people turned out at the meeting to pose
questions, have their questions answered and to vote no or yes on the issue.
The meeting was well attended and representative of the neighborhood (over
100 people showed up). The outcome of the vote was 76 "yes" (in favor of the
Motel), 16 "no" and 3 abstained. It clearly indicated that this highly
diversified community was in support of the development.
I just want to thank all the participants for their input on this issue. I
will, however, continue to work with my neighbors and address any concerns
they may have.
Sincerely,
Basim Sabri
Developer/Property Owner
